Evidence shows that Google has continued to make progress in developing e-passports in the Wallet app.
The company explains that an ID card created from your passport can be used at “select” airline checkpoints, but should not be seen as a replacement for the physical version.
Digital Passports in Wallet will arrive as a US exclusive and can work via NFC and QR codes for domestic flights.
Google is preparing to bring digital convenience to our passports, however, it might be wise to still keep its physical form.
Prominent X tipster AssembleDebug recently posted a screenshot of the upcoming feature via Google Wallet (via Android Police ). The tag for the feature says, “create an ID with your passport.” The feature looks closer to release now, with the image saying that ePassports will be limited to US users only.
